Karen's Amazing Journey with Healthy Trim

"November 2022, my neighbour took a photo of me with her daughter, when she sent it through to me, I was horrified at how much weight I had put on. My weight had gone up since breaking my foot in 2019, I just didn’t realize how much.

I’ve known the owner of Healthy Trim for many years and in conversation last year she mentioned this program. After the dreaded photo, I decided that this had to be my next plan. At 58, something had to start this metabolism burning fat, as previous diets hadn’t worked.

The starter pack arrived in the first week of November 2022; I was excited to see where this journey was going to take me. I needed to do this for myself, with no pressure from anyone around me.

Monday Morning weigh and measure. I added the Healthy Trim App to my phone. This App and reminder service is the greatest.

The first few weeks were a definite struggle as my body became accustomed to the shakes and flavours, my mind raced at what I should and shouldn’t be eating. This did take a good 10 days for me to settle into a routine. It’s a definite positive to write down what you eat. Have a meal for dinner planned, this way you have the correct amount of carbs, protein, veggies and/or salad sorted. My morning tea consisted of 20 almonds or a sliced apple.

After the first 10 days, I started taking a salad or steamed vegetables to have around 2.00pm, as I was getting a little peckish. My normal dinner time is about 6.30pm so this was sustaining me for the day. As I was craving a sugar hit at night, I would slice up an apple and add some Peanut Butter.

At one stage I didn’t realise I was eating too much protein and my stomach became bloated and I was constipated, the team at Healthy Trim set me on the right path and soon enough I was back to normal.

When the first kilos came off, I was over the moon with excitement, as I knew I had finally found something that was going to work. I also had support from my children and partner.

My friends started to comment on how I was looking, this always makes you feel good. I was wearing a denim jacket in a photo recently and my best friend commented if I was wearing my partner’s jacket, as it looked like a sack. When I told her it was mine, she said throw it out it looks terrible. The jacket was size 20. So, on the weekend I went out and purchased a new one, size 14. This made me cry with joy.

On another positive note, my skin and nails are looking and feeling healthier. My mind is no longer searching for the next sugar hit. As the weight kept coming off, I decided to join a gym to tone up my muscles.

I’ve had a 10-kilo weight-loss in my own time, slowly. As I didn’t want to put it back on. My clothes are requiring altering, my life is more comfortable and I’m enjoying and looking forward to losing my next 10 kilo.

More energy, more life, NEW ME."
